Belinda Bussotti

Italian born in Monaco, Belinda Bussotti alias BELI is a multifaceted artist who practices with talent mainly painting, art photography and sculpture.

Despite initial scientific training (Doctor of engineering in electronics from the Faculty of Genoa in Italy in 1985), followed by a 3rd cycle in business management (C.A.A.E. Certificate of Aptitude for Business Administration at the I.A.E. of Nice in 1986), his first passion for drawing and painting gradually took over after a few artistic immersions (between 1991 and 1995: "Corcoran Art School" in Washington DC (USA) and "Glassel Art School" from Houston, Texas (USA) among others) and in parallel with the creation and management of his company SUNLAB International in 1992 in Monaco focused among other things on import and export.

In addition to painting, photography was added in 2009 which opened a window to another artistic dimension (2009 to 2011: ESAP (Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Plastiques) of Monaco, photography section. Then in 2012 she discovered sculpture with the talented sculptor Matéo Mornar with whom she works and is literally passionate about this 3D art which she will continue to practice regularly in her workshop for many years.

From 2018, “graffiti” was added in a very unexpected way with the invitation to participate in UPAW 2018 and 2019 by the Speerstra Gallery. Even if street graffiti is not her specialty, she does not hesitate to put herself in danger when it comes to joining causes and raising awareness on issues that are dear to her such as the rights of women, but also the oceans and the planet that humanity is devouring without measuring the disastrous consequences.

His commitment to the environment began in 2009 after a trigger film, “The end of the line”. She then held exhibitions and messages through art with her paintings, photo mixes, sculptures and even several interventions in the schools of Monaco. His first painted wall at the entrance to the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer in 2014 was a cry of alarm about the cutting of shark fins, which is still current.
She stands out in the defense of oceans & sharks, notably with a personal exhibition at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco entitled “Shark & Art” in 2013-2014 then in the museum’s annual exhibition, “ On Sharks & Humanity” which went to Moscow (Ekatarina Foundation) and Beijing (National Museum of China) in 2015.

Several endangered species are gradually joining its “Beautiful Alive” collection, such as the seahorse, a bronze example “Beli’pokamp” 1.20m high is also installed by the sea in Cagnes sur Mer since June 2016. Shortly after, the first large seahorse model "Symphonie Marine" joined the collection of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

His large bronzes of fins and seahorses were exhibited in Miami during Art Basel (2017) and Las Vegas (2018). His large corals (on 6 x 2m canvas) joined the FPA2 after UPAW 2018, as a symbol of the fight for ocean life. Orangutans were added in 2019, the trigger this time being the video of this animal striking with its fists the steel jaw that is destroying its forest.
If a film or video was able to trigger such a desire to inform and act, his hope is that his works in turn make their way to raise awareness.

In 2020 she was accepted, after analysis of her file, in the panel of artists of singulart.com which sells works by artists recognized in the whole world.

But Beli wants to take another step. Even if 2020 is a problematic year due to the death of her mother, then to Covid19 which she used as an opportunity to finalize a project that has been maturing for a long time. The idea was to create a new company, in the artistic field this time, which will allow her to sell her works “online”, but also those of other committed artists like her, directly from the new merchant site and to help an association which really acts on the ground in favor of sharks and the oceans.

On May 27, 2020, she obtained authorization to create her company “Art Action”. This new artistic adventure marks an important turning point in hes career. The commercial site launches in 2022, highlighting the association “People Of the Water” created by Cristina Zenato, an exceptional woman, in daily contact with sharks, to be discovered on the site.

After 3 years of existence, however, the site https://art-action.mc will establish a new collaboration with the association "Sharks Mission France" and its president Fabienne Rossier from November 2024.

It will also be reworked and will no longer concern a special collection of mini fins and seahorses, but also a copy of each of the works of Beli, which can therefore be acquired more easily by a larger international community.
